Ochama temporarily closes branches, board members also left

Online supermarket Ochama – a retail formula of JD.com – temporarily closes two of its four branches due to ‘maintenance’. It concerns the stores in Diemen and Rotterdam.

The shops in Leiden and Utrecht are still open . Customers of the shop in Diemen are referred to a pick-up location a few kilometers away.

It is unknown what exactly is going on at the company. There is no response for the time being. It is striking that last week it was announced that COO Mark den Butter and cmo Kayee Tjahjadi-Lam have left the company. The two board members have been the face of the retail formula since the launch of Ochama at the beginning of this year.

Ochama has several collection points in the Netherlands and also a collaboration with Blokker. The company previously expanded online to Belgium, Germany and France.
